Adal Industrial is launching a new variety of virgin kraft paper for packaging products in Ethiopia made from 100% bamboo pulp as part of its integrated model of combining a sustainable alternative with clean technology to “Save The Forest, Save The Environment and Save The Earth” as it is stated in the company ‘moto’.
According to Mr. Adane Berhe, owner and CEO of Adal Industrial PLC. the first test of bamboo pulp-based packaging product has been successful after an intense period of installation and commissioning. According to the CEO, this bamboo pulp-based product is the first of its kind in Ethiopia and the start-up and subsequent running-in all went smoothly. Adane expressed great satisfaction with the result and were also very praising of his international team’s professional work from conception to launch.
However, this is not the first time the company has adopted an innovative and environmentally viable manufacturing methods. As a leading bamboo product supplier in Ethiopia and Africa, the company for the past 34 years has been manufacturing and supplying various products such as incense sticks and for 14 years has been manufacturing flooring, curtains, toothpick, furniture and charcoal just to name a few.
Mr. Adane also believes that, products made from bamboo should be the way forward in the 21st century in order save our planet while meeting the growing consumers demands in a more environmentally viable and sustainable way. This according to the CEO, will reduce the destruction of the natural forest, the cutting hundreds of millions of trees to make packaging and other paper-based products while providing customers with quality products at a competitive price.
